CATAMOUNT TRAIL - SECTION 4

SECTION 4

The day started with great conditions but the snow got thinner and thinner and harder as the miles ticked off. It was beautiful and magical and I loved it but I learned that reservoirs have endless feeder streams...which do not freeze over on lean, warmish winters.

Tiring after lunch as I seem to do out on the trail, I made a miss step and with no metal edges on my cross country skis and my poles planted in the ice firmly behind my back...I went teeth first onto the frozen ground. It was the last section I skied in the winter of 2016 but I did head to the Caribbean for my first visit- and soaked my sore face in Rum.
